A Note from Booker Zhang

My name is Booker Zhang, and I was born in Jingdezhen, China.

For generations, my family has worked with ceramics. I grew up in a world where porcelain was not treated as something distant or untouchable. It was part of our surroundings, our conversations, our work, and our everyday routines.

I learned to notice things that many people might overlook: the balance of a cup in the hand, the curve of a handle, the way a pattern changes under light, and the quiet difference between an object that is merely decorative and one that feels right to use.

In a ceramics family, you also learn that good work takes time. A finished piece is only the visible part of a much longer process involving decisions, adjustments, patience, and care. That understanding has stayed with me, even as the way people discover and buy products has changed.

Why Changnan Objects Exists

Over the years, I noticed a problem. Many beautiful Chinese ceramic objects were difficult for people outside China to discover. When they did find them, the product descriptions were often unclear, the configurations were difficult to understand, and the final price did not always seem reasonable.

The distance was not only geographical. It was also a distance created by language, information, and trust.

That is why I created Changnan Objects.

Changnan Objects is a small selection desk for porcelain and useful objects from China. We look for pieces that can become part of real life: a cup beside a laptop, a bowl during a quiet morning, a tea set shared with a guest, or a small gift chosen for someone who appreciates thoughtful details.

What We Promise

Our responsibility is not only to find objects that look beautiful. It is to explain them properly. We work to make the options clear, show what each configuration includes, provide practical details, and offer a buying experience that feels straightforward from the first visit to the moment your order arrives.

We believe good objects should not be made artificially distant. Fair pricing matters. Clear communication matters. Reliable service matters. These are not separate from the beauty of an object; they are part of what allows that object to find a place in someone’s life.

We do not want to make promises that a product cannot support. We describe each selection according to the information available, distinguish what is included, and continue improving the way we present every piece. When a detail matters to your decision, our goal is to make it visible before you place an order.

From Jingdezhen to Everyday Life

Jingdezhen is where my story begins, but Changnan Objects is not limited to one city or one category. We will continue looking across China for small objects with character, usefulness, and a reason to be kept close.

My family gave me a connection to ceramics.
