A Ru-style celadon tea cup decorated with a golden rooster at dawn — a personal cup for slow tea, finished with the fine crackle glaze that deepens with every use.

Craft & Materials

This cup is fired in the Ru tradition, one of the Song dynasty's five great kilns, and glazed in soft celadon with the hairline crackle (kai pian) that Ru ware is famous for. Over time the crackle lines gently take on the color of the tea you drink, so the cup becomes more beautiful the more you use it — a living record of your tea habit.

Size & Use

  • Choose the larger master cup (host size) for long, solo sessions, or the smaller guest cup for sharing
  • Best for: gongfu tea, oolong, pu-erh, or any tea worth slowing down for
  • The crackle seasons with use — each cup develops its own pattern over time
  • Great as: a gift for a tea lover who has everything

Care

  • Rinse with warm water and air dry — no soap or scented detergent needed
  • Hand wash gently to protect the glaze and crackle
  • Let the crackle season naturally; no need to scrub it clean

From the Porcelain Capital

Each cup is fired in Jingdezhen, where ceramics have been made for over a thousand years. Small differences in the glaze and crackle are the natural signature of Ru-style ware — no two cups crackle the same way.

Choose the larger master cup for yourself, or the smaller guest cup to share the ritual.
